This dynamic workshop will introduce innovative ways to allow you to think like a scientist. This will enable your students to be successful in science for the PSSA. PROBLEM: Students are struggling in Science! Teachers want engaging Professional Development to help facilitate scientific thinking. HYPOTHESIS: If teachers attend the workshop, then they will leave thinking like a scientist! If teachers leave thinking like a scientist, then students will demonstrate academic learning gains. MATERIALS: You will receive lesson plans, FREE resources and online learning for follow up. PROCEDURE: Collaborate with your peers as you explore the 4 Categories of Science Standards (Physical-Chemical; Earth & Space; Biological and The Nature of Science). These activities will integrate the 5E Model of Instruction and demonstrate the essential steps for effective lesson planning. RESULTS: Students will experience greater success in science. CONCLUSION: Teachers will be motivated to empower their students to think like scientists. This will lead to immediate improvement of PSSA scores.
